Dr. Urmila Pai is a double board certified psychiatrist specializing in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Since graduation from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, she has been in private practice. She currently maintains a private practice in Jericho, NY.
As one of the few female child and adolescent psychiatrists practicing in Long Island, she has extensive experience in treating patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including ADHD, Disruptive Disorders, Adjustment to Life Issues, Depression, Tourette's Syndrome and Tic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia, Selective Mutism). Additionally, she has completed training in the CBT-I (Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia) program developed at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Pai serves as a consultant to school districts in Long Island. She serves on the executive board as the medical consultant to the Long Island Professionals ADHD Consortium. Dr. Pai is also the author of Nervous Nellie: A Book for Children Who Worry, which addresses anxiety in young children.
