Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment/Consultation

An in-depth interview reviewing current and past psychiatric history in the context of medical conditions and psychosocial factors will be conducted. Then together, we will formulate a treatment plan and discuss treatment options.

Medication Management and Follow-Up Visits

Medications are often a part of psychiatric treatment. I strive to help my patients understand all the benefits and potential risks of medication options that are available. If there is reluctance to starting medication, together we will explore other options. When medications are recommended for treatment and started, it takes strong clinical acumen to provide medications at the lowest necessary dose to elicit a specific response. At times, existing medication regimens are reevaluated to assess the need for a change in dose, a change in medication or discontinuation of medication. Follow-up visits generally are to assess your progress in the context of your treatment goals. Concerns about medications ( i.e. side effects) are also addressed.

Psychotherapy

Therapy is often an integral part of the treatment process. Individual Therapy utilizing multiple therapeutic modalities are offered. I believe that the success of treatment depends on the therapeutic relationship between the doctor and patient.

Treatment Team Approach

For the purposes of continuity of care and for the practice of good medicine, I collaborate with therapists, psychologists, pediatricians, family physicians and other medical practitioners regularly. I believe this is crucial in order to provide the best treatment for my patients.

Individualized Treatment

I strive towards helping my patients achieve a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. I believe in being flexible and individualizing treatment as per the need of each patient. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive enviorment that will enable patients to achieve and maintain their highest level of emotional and mental well being.
