Dr. Urmila Pai is a double board certified psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry. She completed her training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Montefiore Medical Center. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She currently maintains a private practice in Jericho, NY.
As one of the few female child and adolescent psychiatrists practicing in Long Island, she has extensive experience in treating patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including ADHD, Disruptive Disorders, Adjustment to Life Issues, Depression, Tourette's Syndrome and Tic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Phobia, Selective Mutism). She offers genetic testing services which can translate into a more personalized approach for medication management. She has completed training in the CBT-I (Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia) program developed at Harvard Medical School, and recently, completed a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR) as well.

Dr. Pai has served as a consultant to several school districts across Long Island. She has served on the executive board as the medical consultant to the Long Island Professionals ADHD Consortium. Dr. Pai is also the author of Nervous Nellie: A Book for Children Who Worry, which addresses anxiety in young children. Dr. Pai is a recipient of the Top Docs award recognizing her as a top child and adolescent psychiatrist in Jericho, NY. Dr. Pai has also received the Patient's Choice award in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
